Also, many of you may know Modispia (below). I stopped by Ursala's shop tonight and found out that she has closed up shop for a month in an effort to catch up on her work. I'm counting the days until she reopens.
And this last find pretty much seals the deal.... I WILL get a garden planted this year. They are made even more perfect when I tell you they're from a shop called 'Hammer Man'.
When I was in Barcelona last spring I had a modest plan... bocadillo, siesta, and fabric. I happened upon a small Japanese fabric store and nearly lost my mind. I could only bring home so much and some of it went to make this bag but most of it is still sitting quietly for fear that once I use it is gone forever. Since then I've been obsessed with Japanese craft and specifically publications of Japanese craft. I spent the better part of this afternoon bookmarking sites and adding to my wishlist.
SuperBuzzy has a great selection and Interweave has also started publishing a few Japanese authored books. Tall Poppy has a small group that are only printed in Japanese (which matters little to those of us who have no patience for reading directions). Die-hards can pick up back copies of Cotton Time magazine on Ebay, but you might get to see just as much by doing an image search for "Cotton Time" on google. Cheers!

It's a cool thing when when you connect with other people in the world. I first learned of Lisa Golightly (how perfect is her name?) when she placed a custom order with me a few weeks ago. Since then, I've been obsessed with this print named 'Night Swim'.
Her blog has become one of my daily stops because of it's excellent photography and it's well edited view of things that are beautiful and unique in her world.

Sunday was all about the TriState fabric show and this was one of my favorite new fabrics. It's Lantern Bloom by Laura Gunn. This print also has a sister print in a washy blue/green. The rest of the collection... I might have to give it a chance to grow on me but I can certainly see it being used in a quilt.. in very small pieces.
Other highlights of the day included a set of hand-dyed solids from Gee's Bend that will make some very lovely (very modern) simple peiced quilts in my future.
